Clinical Nurse Practitioner (APRN)

Overview:

Groups offers a validated, evidence-based approach to Medication-Assisted Treatment (MAT), recognized as the gold standard for addressing opiate use disorder by prestigious bodies such as the American Society for Addiction Medicine (ASAM) and Substance Abuse and Mental Health Association (SAMHSA). Through a combination of therapy and medication, we empower members to regain control over their lives.

Requirements for Nurse Practitioner/Advance Practice Nurse (1099):

• An active, unrestricted State License (NP/APRN) in Iowa.
• Possession of an active, individual DEA registration in Iowa. Note that separate DEA registrations are necessary for prescribing in multiple states.
• DEAX designation or proof of completing an 8-hour Qualified Training assigned by SAMHSA for Buprenorphine prescription. Prior experience in the MAT/SUD field is preferred, with indirect/related experience also taken into consideration.
• Proof of active Board Certification (NP/APRN) in any specialty.
• Ability to work in-office at our Groups location for at least 5 hours per week.

Responsibilities for Nurse Practitioner/Advance Practice Nurse (1099):

• Conduct intake assessments following counselor evaluations.
• Monitor patients progress during regular group counseling sessions led by specialized counseling staff. Providers assist by addressing inquiries and managing medication dosages.
• Authorize prescriptions during monthly patient panel visits.
• Complete all notes and reporting in Groups' EMR system within specified timelines. Providers undergo full orientation/training on Clinical Protocols before commencing work with Groups.
